Living His Story reading group on Saturday mornings from 10.30 - 11.30 am
If you'd like to join John Barr in discussing the Archbishop of Canterbury's Lent Book by Hannah Steele, we'll be meeting to look at a chapter a week via Zoom (or telephone) on Saturday mornings for seven weeks, starting on Saturday 13th February. If you would like to take part, please obtain a copy of the book (Living His Story: Revealing the extraordinary love of God in ordinary ways SPCK 2020 ISBN 978-0-281-08517-0) and email johnbarr2817@gmail.com for the link.
Unanswered Prayer - the prayer course II on Sunday mornings at 11.00 am
A 5 week Lent course designed to provoke honest thinking about the hardest questions we ask about prayer. Each session of the course will consist of a video, hosted by Pete Greig and BAFTA award-winning TV presenter Gemma Hunt, exploring Jesus’ journey to the cross and drawing on themes and stories from Pete’s book, God on Mute. Each video will also feature an interview with a special guest sharing their experience of God at work in the midst of extreme challenges to their faith.
Accompanying discussion guides to each session will enable us to go deeper in thought and conversation, unpacking themes in detail and praying through challenges and uncertainties together. We will meet on Zoom on Sunday mornings at 11am.
Session 1: “Intro” 28th February
Session 2: “Maundy Thursday: How?” 7th March
Session 3: “Good Friday: Why?” 14th March
Session 4: “Holy Saturday: Where?” 21st March
Session 5: “Easter Sunday: When?” 28th March
Please email The Revd Dr Mary Barr; vicarmary@meltonparish.org.uk if you would like to join this course.
