Easter Day prayers
In joy and hope let us pray to the Father.
That our risen Saviour Jesus Christ may fill us all with the joy of his
glorious and life-giving resurrection…
we pray to the Father.
Lord, hear our prayer.
That in this time of crisis all may find strength in the love of God, be protected from illness, and receive patience and refreshment…
we pray to the Father.
Lord, hear our prayer.
That God may grant us humility to be subject to one another in Christ, to share in Christian love, caring for neighbour and stranger, as God cares for us
we pray to the Father.
Lord, hear our prayer.
That isolated and persecuted churches may find fresh strength
in the good news of Easter, that God will bless all people of faith …
we pray to the Father.
Lord, hear our prayer.
That he may provide for those who lack food, work or shelter. That he will sustain those who care for & support others, that they may know his strength in their weakness. Especially at this time we pray for all those who work in and for the NHS …
we pray to the Father.
Lord, hear our prayer.
That those who hold power and authority will be given wisdom and guidance at this time. That they may continue in strength & find times of refreshment …
we pray to the Father.
Lord, hear our prayer.
That our Father God may reveal the light of his presence to the sick, the weak and the dying, to comfort and strengthen them, even when family and friends cannot be near.
we pray to the Father.
Lord, hear our prayer.
That, according to his promises, all who have died in the faith of the resurrection
may be raised on the last day
we pray to the Father.
Lord, hear our prayer.
That he may send the fire of the Holy Spirit upon his people,
so that in this time we may bear faithful witness to his resurrection,
being lights in the world, even as Christ is the light of the world..
we pray to the Father.
Lord, hear our prayer.
Heavenly Father,
you have delivered us from the kingdom and the power of darkness
and brought us into the kingdom of your Son:
grant that, as his death has recalled us to life,
so his continual presence in us may sustain us now,
and raise us to eternal joy;
through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
